Marlin, Henry and Rossi rifles, all built on Marlin pattern actions, have solid top receivers and right side case ejection, while Winchester and Mossberg guns, based on the John Browning designed Winchester Model 1894 action, have open top receivers with angled ejection of fired cases to allow mounting a scope over the receiver.
There's a model 31 that was made and discontinued in 1985. This was followed by the models 68 & 88 which were discontinued in 1998. Then the models 351 and 352 took the other 5 shot gun's places. These are all the .38 Special 5 shot models Rossi produced or is producing. The below is from the Rossi history site.
Aug 13, 2018 · With their deep chambers, Ruger Old Army revolvers hold heavier powder charges than standard Colt or Remington Army clones. The only problem with the Old Army is that you may not be able to find one. Ruger discontinued the Old Army model in 2008, so they are getting a lot harder to find in the marketplace.
Aug 31, 2011 · Both of my guns (blued and stainless steel)have rifled barrels - I have seen on the internet that they make a smooth bore but have never seen one. Comes with 3 chokes - one is used for the 45 long colt - the other 2 are used for the 410 gauge. You have to use the correct choke for the correct shell.
Aug 02, 2013 · I have the Rossi 20″ round barrel in .357…it is the 3rd Rossi lever gun I have owned, and I have also owned 3 Rossi revolvers, including a new 6″ .357. I have NEVER had any problems with any Rossi I have ever had…the .357 rifles shoot .38 Specials all day long, even mixed with magnums, and this makes them a good companion for a .357 ...
