Though 1993 and 1994 were both OBD-I, they used different computers. 1993s used the replaceable chip type (PROM), while 1994 and up used flash memory for storing the program (EEPROM).

With the 0411 swap you can easily add T/H mode. There is no indicator light for T/H mode on the GMT400 truck. You give a single PCM pin a MOMENTARY Ground to engage T/H. If you press the button again or cycle the key, T/H is cancelled. Jeff

If the new PCM’s information is incorrect, and the PCM cannot self-correct it, it will set the P1336 Diagnostic Trouble Code and turn the SES light on.
